Tesco Enhances Campaign with Augmented Reality

Tesco has joined forces with Blippar to take their ‘Big Price Drop’ campaign to the next level.

Customers who download the Blippar app can scan Tesco’s print and outdoor advertising with their smartphones to experience a 3D annimated version of the ad. Customers can also download recipe ideas and store locations straight to their phone.

Although the creative execution is a little ho-hum, the underlying platform is incredibly exciting. Rather than forcing QR codes into the advertisement the Blippar software is activated by the imagery itself.
